stuck on my mind

A few weeks ago in Sunday service we were focusing on some chapters in Philippians and my eyes wandered around the page to chapter 2, verses 5-11. I really felt a need to memorize these words and "hide them in my heart" forever. So, after a few days of repetition, here is my attempt at reciting them.

Your attitude should be like that of Christ Jesus,
who being in very nature God
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself NOTHING
taking on the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled himself to be obedient to death,
even death on a cross.
Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place,
and gave Him the name that is above all names,
that at the name of Jesus EVERY knee will bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and EVERY tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

God's Word is so powerful and in light of the Easter weekend, please remember the great gift that God has given this world. Praise to our God and to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Winterjam!!!!!

It was a last minute decision to go to the Winterjam concert. D. sent me because Skillet was there and he knew I'd love to see them. I wrestled with him missing out because of watching the girls, but went against my will (at first). I rode with our new church's youth group and we arranged to pick up our old church's youth group on the way. That's when it got fun for me, I was surrounded by people i knew and loved. We stood outside in line for 4 hours and it was totally worth it to get the seats we got! Thanks Megan for flying down the stairs and hopping chairs to get the front and center. I rocked all night between Tasha and Megan. It was awesome. Though we were in the second row, a friend from the group had the front row, and she offered it to tasha and me when Skillet came out. We were stoked. We screamed and screamed. I acted like a 15 year old, jumping around, singing all the songs, and snappin pics on my camera phone. If only i had brought a decent camera!!!!! It was AMAZING. I don't presume to give them more glory than God my Father, but it was really fun to see a group I've been rockin to since 1998. On the way home, the two youth groups seemed to now have a common bond and it was great to make new relationships with some of the new youth kids. I hope this is the beginning of the two churches being able to get together and support each other. Here are a few of the "less than quality" photos from my memorable night.
