School Girl

Our big girl has been at the Christian school for a month and enjoys every bit of it. She does have a hard time dragging out of bed at 6 am to catch the bus at 7 am to get to school at 8:30 am. Never mind that the school is only 20 minutes away. It's cheaper to ride the bus than use our gas to drive there and back twice a day. This week is homecoming, so she gets to dress up just like the big kids. Wednesday is 50's day so mom took the opportunity to make her a poodle skirt. It was fun, and Jenna is excited to wear it. She also will be going to see the Pirates who don't do anything with her class on Wed., so she'll be wearing this skirt there as well. She goes three days a week, only has 6 other kids in her class, and she loves the teacher, it's very personal and we're at peace with the decision to send her there, for now. In coming years, she may decide she misses things at camp because of school and we'll opt for home school again. Rachel misses her somedays, but mostly enjoys having mom to herself.

She's TWO!!!

The baby of the family has now turned into a toddler and mom is left with the question, "Can I still claim this extra weight as post-baby fat if the baby's now two?" She is certainly losing her baby fat and getting tall. She, just like big sis, is in the 95th percentile for height, but lingers far below the average for weight. The doctor says not to worry, it's just in their genes. Must be dad's genes, cause mom's jeans show that the tall and skinny body type is a thing of the past. We had a small party for her with mom, dad, sis, and gramma. She received a brand new car(a $6 deal at Goodwill) , among other things, and drives it around the house. Picture Fred Flintstone feet sticking out the bottom of the car, motoring her forward. Though she shows many signs of getting older, she still makes it very clear that she is the baby and believes everything is "MINE!"
